Internal Structure

The leadership of the activities of the “Fachschaft” and the representation of the interests of the “Fachschaft” towards all University and non-university committees is the task of the Student Body Council (“Fachschaftsrat”/FSR). The five members of the FSR are elected each year during the StuRa elections in the summer semester. All members of the “Fachschaft” (so all students of the chemistry and biochemistry degree programs) can stand for election. The members of the FSR choose a chair, a deputy chair and two financiers amongst themselves. That means that in the elections it is not decided upon who fills which position, just who is part of the FSR in general. The fifth FSR member has no set role. Unofficially however, they are in charge of the public relations of the “Fachschaft”. The FSR convenes once per week to discuss the relevant topics for the week and to prepare the FSVV.

So you can better imagine what the FSR does, we have compiled the responsibilities of each member:

Chair Deputy Chair
  • Kepps overview over projects and deadlines
  • Organization and chairing of FSR meetings
  • Organization and chairing of the QSMK
  • Organization and chairing of the FSVVs and publishing of the FSVV protocols
  • Fills in for the Chair when they are not available
Finances (2 people) Public Relations
  • Management of the budget of the “Fachschaft”
  • Management of bills of all projects and events financed by the “Fachschaft”
  • Drawing up a budget plan for a budget year
  • Publishing of info on WhatsApp, Instagram and on the homepage
  • Curating of accounts of the “Fachschaft” on all networks

Additionally, there are some internal positions to ensure the coordinated workings of the “Fachschaft”:

Lending Mails
Organizes the lending and return of various items, such as dishes, music systems and tables. Manages mails of the contact email adress, answers questions and passes on information to people responsible for handling certain subjects.
Internal Protocols
Organizes a clean up of the rooms of the “Fachschaft” once a semester and regular internal activities, e.g. game nights. Writes the protocols during the FSVV.
IT Social Media
Takes care of the website and MEGA Server Takes care of the social media presence of the “Fachschaft”.
Design Drinks

Awareness
  • Contact persons for problems and conflicts in the Uni day to day
  • Conflict resolution, establishment of quiet rooms etc. during events

For specific events, planning teams are formed. If necessary, a primarily responsible person is chosen who is in charge of coordinating the planning, especially when there is a large, prolonged planning effort.

If you want to know in detail how the “Fachschaft” is structured, how meetings, votes and elections work and what our stated resposibilities are, feel free to read our statute, where all of this is laid out.
