During the lecture period, the “Fachschaft” meets once per week for a Student Body General Meeting (“Fachschaftsvollversammlung”/FSVV). There, we
- Choose persons for specific positions and make recommendations to the FSR who to send to the different committees,
- Initiate/plan events,
- Make decisions,
- Discuss current matters of University life and
- Hear reports from the StuRa and, if possible, from the committees.
All members of the “Fachschaft” can participate in the FSVV, introduce ideas and agenda items and participate in votes. The Deputy Chair of the FSR leads the FSVV, puts together an agenda for it and is responsible for drawing up a protocol. At the beginning of the semester protocol writers are chosen who document the discussed during the FSVV.
Currently, FSVVs take place in the small lecture hall of INF 252, starting at 18:30 on Wednesdays. The agenda is announced prior to the FSVV through the announcement channel of the WhatsApp community. The FSVV protocols can be viewed on a Drive folder (they will be uploaded there a couple of days after the FSVV).
The FSR also has weekly meetings (and additional ones if necessary). In these FSR meetings, people are officially sent to committees (after FSVV recommendation), current topics get discussed, FSVVs are prepared and votes within the authority of the FSR are held. The Chair of the FSR leads the meeting, sets an agenda and is responsible for drawing up a protocol. Upon inquiry, these protocols can be viewed. The members of the “Fachschaft” do not have a general right to participate in the meetings, but they do have the right to speak and petition. During the summer semester, there is usually a meeting open to everyone who is considering to run for the FSR themselves.
